17 Mile

My first 17 Mile run.
The furthest ive ever gone.
I tasted the wall.


Mon 28th Feb
Cold, dark and a bit boring. Statswise.....
Duration = 3 hours (180 minutes)
Calories Burnt =  2162
Averaging an 11 minute mile.


So, if i can maintain an 11 minute mile, my maths tells me 11 mins to do one mile, 286 minutes to do the 26 miles.This is 4.7 hours or 4 hours 42 minutes. Thats what the maths says...thats a long time to hop and I need to start getting into my head that I will be running for 286 minutes or around 5 hours....its MENTAL! =)


It definitely had its ups and downs, metaphorically and literally. The first 14 miles or so were fine, but after that, my state of mind was increasingly altered by sugar (Engery) intake and the amount of hills I encountered...


Lessons I learnt were BRING LOTS OF FOOD! im just trying to find out what works best for me in terms of food.
